B2B leads / updated 8 October 2026

B2B leads are whatever the first page is selling. Those pages do not agree.

On 8 October 2026 the first page for this phrase, in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia, put a LinkedIn service next to a contact database Skrapp describes as 200 million records, next to articles that disagree about whether the person has to have asked. ReplyLead is the case where they have not asked. We contact them by cold email and LinkedIn. The handoff is a meeting your team takes. We do not sell the database.

Pick the thing the result actually hands you

The query is one string. The first page is a shelf. A database hands you a search box. A LinkedIn service hands you a program that sends messages on LinkedIn. An article hands you a definition, and the definitions do not match. Buying the wrong one feels like a lead problem. It is a product problem.

Someone who has not asked fits the kind of company you sell to and does not know you. ReplyLead contacts that person by cold email and LinkedIn. The handoff is a meeting your team takes.

A searchable record

Skrapp's lead finder is titled as a search of a 200 million contact database. On that page a B2B lead is a business contact or company that matches an ideal customer profile and might become an opportunity. Hunter Discover calls itself a B2B lead database for finding companies and their contact information. You leave with a way to look people up.

A LinkedIn program

b2bleads.com titles itself a LinkedIn B2B platform. The page says the firm has used LinkedIn and outbound, and it addresses business coaches, consultants, and advisors. The same site is on the first page in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Spain. You leave with a service that runs LinkedIn, not with a definition.

Someone who already engaged

Esmartia, on Spain's first page, says a B2B lead has shown active interest and handed over their data. It is not a follower. It is not a visitor who passed through the site. The same page says a large database is not the same thing as leads. Flowd calls the engaged version a warm lead: the person has interacted with the brand.

Someone who has not asked

Flowd says a cold lead fits the target market on paper and has shown no engagement yet. 1000-steps says that person has had no meaningful contact, fits the profile, and does not know you exist. ReplyLead starts there, with cold email and LinkedIn. A meeting on your calendar is the handoff. The signature is yours.

Four labels for a B2B lead. ReplyLead is first: a person who has not asked. Then a searchable record, a LinkedIn service, and a person who already engaged.

The first page is not the same page in every country

Personal results were turned off. The query was the two words B2B leads. English results were read for four countries, and Spanish results for Spain, on 8 October 2026. Two names survive the English set: b2bleads.com and Skrapp. Spain keeps the LinkedIn service and swaps the rest for Spanish explainers.

United States: b2bleads.com, Hunter Discover, a Reddit thread, Zendesk's strategy article, Skrapp, then Foundr, a small-business expo article, and Tapistro.

United States

b2bleads.com, Hunter's database, a Reddit thread in r/b2bmarketing, Zendesk, Skrapp, Foundr, The Small Business Expo, and Tapistro. The summary box at the top names Hunter, Instantly, and Skrapp as databases.

Canada

b2bleads.com, the same Reddit thread, Skrapp, Martal, Zendesk, SAP's Canada page, ZoomInfo's pipeline guide, GetB2BLeads, and 1000-steps. The summary box says a lead matches a profile and shows interest. That sentence is the opposite of a cold lead.

United Kingdom

The Reddit thread, b2bleads.com, Skrapp, Zendesk's UK host, names.co.uk, Flowd, Experian, Axon Garside, and LinkedIn's own marketing-solutions page. Flowd is the page that defines a cold lead as a fit with no engagement.

Australia

b2bleads.com, Zendesk's Australia host, the LinkedIn company page for that same brand, the Reddit thread, Data.com.au, 1000-steps, Skrapp, and SAP.

Spain

b2bleads.com, then Esmartia, a Sortlist agency list, Andzup, Sage, Masleads, Smart Team, and Prozer. Skrapp was not in that top set. Esmartia requires interest and data the person handed over.

The argument on the first page is whether interest is required

Read the definitions side by side and the fight is small and expensive. Skrapp requires a profile match and a possible opportunity, and stores it as a record. Zendesk requires the potential to become a customer, which is a wider gate: a person, an organization, or a business that might buy. Neither sentence requires that the person has written back.

Flowd and 1000-steps split the word by temperature, which means how much contact already exists. Cold means the fit is real and the relationship is not. Warm means the person has already done something: opened, downloaded, visited. Esmartia draws the line further along. Active interest, data handed over, a hand raised. A follower does not qualify. A visitor who only passed through the site does not qualify. And a large database, in that article's words, is not leads.

1000-steps opens with the operational fact underneath the fight: ask a commercial team what a B2B lead is and you will get ten answers. Marketing means one thing, sales means another, and the founder means something else again. A company that does not write the test down will buy a database, count the rows, and call the rows pipeline.

ReplyLead's test is written here so it cannot be confused with those. The person works at a company that fits. They have not asked. We contact them. A meeting your team takes is the handoff. A row in someone else's database fails the test, because nobody has been contacted yet.

B2B, B2C, C2C, and D2C are different buyers

The question shows up beside this query because the letters look like a set. They describe who sells to whom.

  • B2B. A business sells to a business. The buyer is a person at that business who can act. That is the query on this page.
  • B2C. A business sells to a person buying for themselves.
  • C2C. A person sells to a person.
  • D2C. A brand sells to a person without a retailer in the middle.

A file of consumer names does not become B2B because the column header says company. The first pages above are arguing about business buyers. A consumer list is a different argument, and it is not this one.

Where ReplyLead sits on that shelf

ReplyLead is not the database and not the article. We run cold email and LinkedIn for a business that sells to other businesses. The person we write to has not asked. The work ends when a meeting is on your calendar. Your team takes the call and signs. We do not.

If the result you wanted was a search box, stay with the database pages. If the result you wanted was a definition of someone who already raised a hand, the Spanish article and the warm-lead paragraphs are that definition. If the result you wanted was someone who fits and has never heard of you, that is the work. How the work runs is on how it works. What it costs is on pricing. The meeting, as a service, is on sales lead generation. The reply counts from the campaign book are on cold email benchmarks, and they are not repeated here.

When this page does not apply

  • You want a file of addresses. The database results are the ones selling that. This page will not rank them or shop them for you.
  • The person must already have asked. Use the engaged-lead definition. Do not hire a firm to contact strangers and then grade it as if the strangers had filled in a form.
  • You want the firm to close. That is a different contract. ReplyLead stops at the meeting.
  • You want a consumer list, a marketplace between people, or a brand that skips retailers. Those are B2C, C2C, and D2C. This query is B2B.
  • You want the campaign arithmetic. It lives on the benchmarks page. Copying it here would make two pages say the same thing.

Method

On 8 October 2026 the query B2B leads was read with personal results off. English results were read for the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Spanish results were read for Spain. The names in the country cards are the organic results on those pages, in the order they appeared. Ads were present and are not treated as the articles.

The same day, these pages were fetched and the sentences above are taken from them: Skrapp's lead finder, Hunter Discover, b2bleads.com, Zendesk's B2B lead generation article, 1000-steps, Flowd, and Esmartia. Martal's article and Foundr's article appeared in the results and returned a block when fetched, so they are named as results and not quoted. ReplyLead did not buy or test the databases or the LinkedIn service. This page is not an independent ranking.

Questions

What is a B2B lead?

The first-page pages do not share one definition. Skrapp calls it a business contact or company that matches an ideal customer profile and might become an opportunity, and puts that contact in a database it describes as 200 million. Zendesk calls it a person, an organization, or a business with the potential to become a customer. Flowd calls a cold lead someone who fits on paper and has not engaged. Esmartia, on the Spanish results, requires active interest and data the person handed over, and says a large database is not the same thing as leads. ReplyLead works the case where the person has not asked.

What is on the first page for B2B leads?

On 8 October 2026, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia each showed b2bleads.com, a LinkedIn service, and Skrapp, a contact database, next to Zendesk and a Reddit thread. Spain kept b2bleads.com and then listed Spanish explainers, including Esmartia and Prozer. The ads beside those results were for contact data, CRMs, and quoting software. Those ads are a different product from the articles.

Is a contact database a set of B2B leads?

It is a way to look people up. Skrapp and Hunter both describe databases. Esmartia says a large database is not the same thing as leads. A row with a name and an email has not asked to hear from you, and it has not replied. ReplyLead does not sell that search.

What is a cold lead?

Flowd says a cold lead fits the target market on paper and has shown no engagement yet. 1000-steps says a cold lead has had no meaningful contact, fits the profile, and does not know you exist. That is the person ReplyLead contacts by cold email and LinkedIn. Whether they reply, and whether a meeting is booked, are later events. This page does not count them.

What do B2B, B2C, C2C, and D2C mean?

B2B is a business selling to a business. B2C is a business selling to a person. C2C is a person selling to a person. D2C is a brand selling to a person without a retailer in between. The query B2B leads is about the first of those. The other three are different buyers, and a file of consumer names does not answer them.

Who should skip this page?

Skip it if you want a file of email addresses. Skip it if the person must already have asked. Skip it if you want ReplyLead to negotiate and sign the contract. The client keeps the close.
