Outsourced B2B lead generation
Outsourced lead generation: what you hand over, what it costs, and how to judge a provider
Outsourced lead generation means paying an outside team to find, contact and qualify prospects so your salespeople spend their time on calls. ReplyLead runs it on cold email and LinkedIn: targeting, data, sending infrastructure, copy and reply handling, with qualified meetings booked onto your calendar while your team runs the sales call. Pricing is infrastructure from $2,023 a month plus an agreed share of revenue that closes, with no per-meeting fee; in a period where nothing closes, no revenue share is owed and the infrastructure amount remains.
What outsourced lead generation is
Outsourced lead generation is buying the prospecting side of sales from an outside team: deciding whom to contact, building and verifying the list, running the outreach, reading the replies and turning interest into something your salespeople can act on. The deliverable varies by provider. A contact, an expression of interest, a booked meeting and a held meeting are different outcomes, so the first question about any quote is which of them you are paying for.
ReplyLead runs the full sequence for B2B companies on cold email and LinkedIn and ends at a qualified meeting on your calendar; the how it works page lists the 15 steps before a meeting reaches you. If you only need the booking stage, the appointment setting page covers it in detail.
What you hand over and what you keep
Outsourcing works when both sides know where the handoff sits. In a ReplyLead programme six stages are handed over and two stay with you. The figure is drawn from the same stage list.
Handed over
Targeting against your ideal customer profile and exclusions, list building with live verification before sending, dedicated sending infrastructure separate from your primary domain, the outreach itself, reply handling by a person, and qualification and booking against written criteria.
Kept by your team
The sales call, the proposal and the close. Your salespeople take the meeting with the reply thread attached; an agreed revenue share applies only to revenue that closes under the contract.
Four ways to pay for outsourced lead generation
The useful comparison is not which model is cheapest; it is who carries the cost in a quarter where nothing closes, and what exactly counts as delivered. The table compares the four common structures on the same columns. It describes pricing shapes, not named providers.
| Model | What you pay for | A quarter with no closed deals | What counts as delivered | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ReplyLead: infrastructure plus revenue share | Infrastructure from $2,023 a month, plus an agreed share of revenue that closes; no per-meeting fee | No revenue share is owed; the infrastructure amount remains | Qualified meetings on your calendar; the share applies to closed revenue | Agree the attribution window and qualification definition in writing |
| Pay per lead | A fee for each lead that meets the contract definition | You pay for the leads delivered | Varies from a content download to a qualified meeting | The billable event and rejection rules |
| Pay per appointment | A fee for each booked or held meeting | You pay for the meetings that quarter, whether or not any deal closes | A meeting that meets the contract definition | No-show, reschedule and replacement terms |
| Monthly retainer | A fixed monthly fee for an agreed scope | You still pay the retainer | Depends on the agreed scope and reporting | Minimum term, setup fees and delivery commitments |
Published per-lead prices on our pay per lead comparison run from $45 per lead to $150 to $1,500 per qualified lead, and per-meeting prices start at $100 and reach $1,400. What counts as a lead or a meeting differs by company, so compare the billable event before the price. The retainer and per-meeting mechanics are worked through on pay per appointment vs retainer.
Outsourcing lead generation or hiring an SDR
Hiring your own sales development rep adds compensation, employer costs, management, tools and ramp time. At the defaults of ReplyLead's SDR cost calculator, one in-house SDR is modeled at $140,332 in the first year and $1,559 per held, accepted meeting, with 3 months of ramp before first meetings. The $80,000 OTE default is illustrative, and the 32.8% employer-cost default is the BLS benefits share for private-industry sales occupations (2026 Q2).
ReplyLead's published infrastructure tiers start at $2,023 a month at 25,000 emails and $2,841 at 50,000, which is $24,276 or $34,092 over twelve months (calculated), plus the agreed revenue share on what closes. The two are not the same purchase: one buys a person you manage, the other buys a managed programme with its own scope. Put your own numbers into the calculator and include the complete provider quote before deciding; the alternatives to hiring an SDR page walks the full year.
Compare outsourced lead generation quotes
Enter the numbers from the proposals you have. The tool puts four pricing structures on the same monthly volume so you can see the monthly cost and the cost per closed deal side by side. Defaults are illustrative: the $50 per lead, $25,000 first-year deal value and 20% close rate are the defaults of our pay per lead calculator, $333 per held meeting is the illustrative price on our pay per appointment page, the $5,000 retainer and 5 leads per held meeting are placeholders, and the 10% revenue share is a placeholder, not a ReplyLead rate; the percentage is set in each proposal.
Monthly cost at these inputs
At these inputs, 10 held meetings a month and a 20% close rate produce 2 closed deals and $50,000 in first-year revenue a month. Monthly cost: infrastructure plus revenue share $7,023; pay per appointment $3,330; pay per lead $2,500; monthly retainer $5,000. These are your inputs, not a forecast or a quote; replace every default with numbers from written proposals.
| Structure | Monthly cost | Cost per closed deal |
|---|---|---|
| Infrastructure plus revenue share (ReplyLead's structure) | $7,023 | $3,512 |
| Pay per appointment | $3,330 | $1,665 |
| Pay per lead | $2,500 | $1,250 |
| Monthly retainer | $5,000 | $2,500 |
A model that looks cheap per meeting can be expensive per closed deal if its meetings do not close. For the outreach volume behind a meeting target, use the calculator on the appointment setting page.
How to judge an outsourced lead generation provider
- Scope. Which stages does the quote cover: targeting, data, infrastructure, outreach, replies, qualification, booking? Partial services sell slices.
- The billable event. A lead, a booked meeting, a held meeting or closed revenue. Get the definition and the rejection rules in writing.
- Data. Are contacts verified live before sending, or does the provider trust a vendor's verified flag?
- Infrastructure. Does the outreach send from dedicated domains separate from your primary domain? Separation limits direct exposure; it does not guarantee inbox placement.
- Reply handling. Who reads and answers replies, and how interest, referrals and automatic replies are separated.
- Records. Which records you receive at each stage: send records, reply threads, calendar events, attendance and CRM acceptance.
The same handoff records are laid out as an acceptance checklist on the appointment setting page and as a worksheet in the accepted meeting brief.
Who outsourced lead generation fits
| Good fit | Not a fit |
|---|---|
| B2B, with a deal size that supports revenue share | Low-ticket or transactional B2C |
| A sales team that can take the meetings | Nobody available to run the calls |
| A definable ICP we can build a list against | "Anyone who might buy" |
| Wants pipeline without hiring and ramping an SDR | Needs calling as the primary motion |
How this page was built
ReplyLead's scope, stage ownership and pricing come from ReplyLead's own homepage, how it works and pricing pages, fetched on 29 September 2026; the build refuses to publish if a quoted sentence is missing from those pages. In-house SDR figures are the published defaults of the SDR cost calculator. Per-lead and per-meeting price ranges are from our pay per lead comparison, which lists each provider's published price and billable event.
Reply rates are observed counters from ReplyLead's 115-campaign extraction on the cold email benchmarks page (6,249 unique replies from 242,669 contacted leads, automatic replies included). The quote comparison tool performs arithmetic on your inputs; its defaults are labelled placeholders or other pages' illustrative defaults. We did not buy or test other providers' services for this page.
Outsourced lead generation questions
What is outsourced lead generation?
Outsourced lead generation is paying an outside team to find, contact and qualify prospects for your sales team. The provider runs some or all of targeting, data, sending infrastructure, outreach, reply handling and booking; your salespeople take the calls. ReplyLead runs it on cold email and LinkedIn and books qualified meetings onto your calendar.
How much does outsourced lead generation cost?
It depends on the pricing model. Published per-lead prices on our pay per lead comparison run from $45 per lead to $150 to $1,500 per qualified lead, and per-meeting prices start at $100 and reach $1,400, each with its own definition of a lead or a meeting. ReplyLead charges infrastructure from $2,023 a month plus an agreed share of revenue that closes, with no per-meeting fee. The quote comparison tool on this page puts the models side by side.
Is outsourcing lead generation cheaper than hiring an SDR?
At the defaults of ReplyLead's SDR cost calculator, one in-house SDR is modeled at $140,332 in the first year, with 3 months of ramp before first meetings. Outsourcing changes what you buy rather than just the price, so compare the full quote, the scope and who owns replies and qualification.
What is the difference between outsourced lead generation and appointment setting?
Lead generation produces contacts and expressions of interest. Appointment setting carries that interest through reply handling and qualification to a scheduled meeting. ReplyLead does both in one programme; the appointment setting page covers the booking stage in detail.
How long does outsourced lead generation take to produce meetings?
Sending infrastructure needs weeks of reputation-building before the first campaign send, so the first weeks are setup rather than meetings. Agree what counts as progress in the first month before you compare providers on speed.
What should an outsourced lead generation contract define?
The billable event (a lead, a booked meeting, a held meeting or closed revenue), the qualification criteria, who answers replies, no-show and replacement terms, the attribution window for any revenue share, and the records the provider will hand over.
Which channels does ReplyLead use?
Cold email and LinkedIn. If a programme needs calling as the primary motion we will say so rather than take it on.
When this page does not apply
It does not apply if you need calling as the primary motion; ReplyLead runs cold email and LinkedIn and will say so rather than take a calling-first programme. It does not apply to low-ticket or transactional B2C, or if nobody on your side can take the meetings.
It does not give a meeting forecast: the campaign extraction ends at reply counters and has no linked booking or attendance series. If you are comparing named providers rather than models, start with B2B lead generation companies compared; for the wider service menu, see B2B lead generation services.
